The Embroidered Dragalió de Mataró Correfoc Scarf is one of the essential items for experiencing the Les Santes correfoc safely. The scarf protects your face from sparks and helps you breathe much more easily during the correfoc. Made from thick 100% cotton fabric with the Dragalió design sublimated onto polyester and embroidered to guarantee proper adhesion and long-lasting durability. Made entirely in Catalonia.
Why do you need a correfoc scarf?
The correfoc scarf is essential protection for anyone who wants to take part in the Les Santes correfoc. It protects the face and airways from sparks, dust and smoke. 100% high-weight cotton is the ideal material because it does not melt with heat, unlike synthetic fabrics.
Who is el Dragalió de Mataró?
El Dragalió was born from a courtship between el Drac de Mataró and la Víbria de Poblenou. It was presented as a giant egg on Sant Jordi's Day 2007, from which the little Dragalió hatched on 25 July of that same year, at the very start of Les Santes. It is a small-scale fire figure carried by a single person, with many similarities to el Drac de Mataró who serves as its father. The design and construction is the work of Xevi Ribas.

Frequently asked questions
Why must the scarf be 100% cotton?
High-weight 100% cotton is the ideal material for the correfoc because it resists sparks without melting. Synthetic fabrics such as polyester can melt with heat and cause serious burns to the skin.
What is the difference between the Drac scarf and the Dragalió scarf?
El Dragalió is el Drac's son: a smaller figure carried by a single person. Each scarf has its own exclusive illustration.
Is the Dragalió embroidery long-lasting?
Yes. The design is sublimated onto polyester and embroidered to guarantee proper adhesion to the fabric and long-lasting durability.
Where is it made?
Made entirely in Catalonia.
