Collective energy
Photo Description:
In the heart of the Desvetllament Bellugós during Les Santes, Robafaves rises majestically above the crowd, as if the night of Mataró revolved around him. The giant's gaze, the scroll in his hand, and the movement of his cloak capture the power of a moment filled with celebration, tradition, and emotion. Below, the crowd follows with raised arms, surrounded by music, cheers, and light, experiencing that magical moment when the city awakens and its popular culture comes to life on a grand scale.
Who is Joan Casas?
Joan Casas Jover was born in Barcelona in 2005, a vibrant city full of history. From a very young age, his parents instilled in him a deep love for one of the Maresme region’s most iconic celebrations: the Festa Major of Les Santes in Mataró.
This joyful and tradition-filled celebration has always been a core part of his life, creating unforgettable memories and strengthening family bonds. His admiration for the Robafaves Family reflects his strong connection to local traditions and his desire to keep them alive. This passion for Les Santes and the Robafaves Family not only shows his love for cultural heritage but also the pride in a tradition passed down by his parents with dedication and enthusiasm.
For Joan, Les Santes is much more than a festival — it’s a living legacy he celebrates every year with deep devotion and joy, capturing it all through the lens of his camera.
