Who is Laya?

Laya was born in Arenys de Munt in 2002 and has always been closely connected to Catalan popular culture. From a very young age, she has been a member of the Esbart Dansaire of Arenys de Munt. Music has always been an important part of her life, and she studied music at the Conservatori del Liceu branch located at Escola Balmes in Mataró.

During her university years, she developed an interest in the world of human towers (castells). Since 2021, she has been passionate about casteller photography, documenting performances and events. A great admirer of Les Santes, she enthusiastically experiences Mataró's annual festival and Dissantes, celebrations in which she has also participated as a volunteer with the El Maresme Foundation.

She graduated in Audiovisual Media from Tecnocampus Mataró two years ago. Her final degree project focused on Catalan cultural identity and how it is reflected in music videos, bringing together two of her greatest passions: culture and audiovisual storytelling.
Professionally, photography is the field she is most passionate about, especially portrait photography, although she is also deeply interested in music videos and audiovisual production.
