As children, the festival is pure magic. Giants and fire beasts dancing through the streets, music, colours and an entire city beating to the rhythm of its traditions. For me, that magic always had a name and a face: Robafaves. 💛

Fifteen years ago, we started Robafaves.cat with a very clear idea: to share this passion with children and, in our own way, help keep alive a culture that is part of who we are.

Fifteen years later, that project has allowed us to make one of the most special dreams in our history come true: bringing the Robafaves.cat Capgròs to life.

Much more than a capgròs

For us, it is much more than just a figure. It is a symbol and, above all, a tribute to the Giant who has inspired us from the very beginning: Robafaves.

I grew up experiencing Les Santes with eyes full of wonder. At home, I was taught to look beyond the papier-mâché, wood and costumes and to discover the history, the people and the soul behind every figure.

Over the years, that love became an idea. The idea became a project. And the project continued to grow thanks to all of you who have joined us on this journey over the past fifteen years.

A dream we began building in 2022

In 2022, we decided to take a step we had been imagining for a long time: creating our own capgròs.

We wanted a figure inspired by the world that had accompanied us throughout our lives, but with a personality of its own. We did not want it to look like any other capgròs. We wanted people to look at it and immediately feel the character and spirit of Robafaves.cat.

To make it a reality, we placed our trust in Taller Casserras. Under the direction of Sessa, the workshop brought to life a unique figure that required months of work before reaching the result we can finally share today.

Taller Casserras and its connection with Mataró

Choosing Taller Casserras also had a very special meaning for us. The workshop’s history is closely connected to some of Mataró’s most beloved festive figures.

Its founder, Manel Casserras i Boix, worked on the renovation of Robafaves and other iconic figures from the city. This connection made entrusting our project to the workshop even more meaningful.

Today, Sessa keeps this legacy alive, preserving the essence of the workshop while bringing her own perspective to its work.

Our Capgròs was born from this combination of tradition, craftsmanship and creativity. A unique figure with a character and, above all, a soul of its own.

A figure created to be shared

Throughout this entire process, there was one moment we particularly looked forward to: the day the Capgròs would take to the streets and meet the children who have grown up knowing Robafaves.cat.

Because that is exactly why our Capgròs was created: to dance, play, take photos and share special moments with children and adults alike, always with the respect and care that every festive figure deserves.

We do not want it to be a figure that can simply be admired. We want it to come alive, to appear when least expected and to become part of moments that eventually turn into memories.

Fifteen years later, a new story begins

This Capgròs represents many things. It represents the child who once looked at Robafaves with admiration, the fifteen-year journey of Robafaves.cat and all the people who have made it possible for an idea born from a passion for Les Santes to continue growing.

But, above all, it represents everything that is still to come.

Because the best stories need a little magic. And our Capgròs will appear whenever it wants, wherever it chooses. 😉

It will dance, play and continue doing what we set out to do fifteen years ago: sharing our love for popular culture with children.
