¡El Garot de l’Arboç visita Robafaves.cat: nuestro homenaje a los Tres Tombs!

This year, although the Mataró City Council has once again decided not to celebrate the 3 Tombs, at Robafaves.cat we stay true to our roots. That’s why, from our space, we’re proud to present our own version of the 3 Tombs, which we want to share with the whole city.

📅 From February 3 to 22, 2024
📍 Espai Robafaves – c/ Montserrat, 7, Mataró

The Garot of l’Arboç, guest of honour

We are honoured to welcome a unique and symbolic figure: the Garot of l’Arboç, a key part of the traditional parade of this town in the Penedès. Its festival is officially recognised as a National Heritage Celebration and is a reference in Catalan folk culture.

Created in 1999 by Jordi Grau, the Garot represents the Catalan mule (guarà) and evokes the livestock fairs of the past. With traditional music and ceremonial presence, it brings memory and identity to the streets.

Thank you, colla of the Garot!

We are sincerely grateful to the Colla Garot de l'Arboç for generously lending us this festive figure. We’re excited to share it with the children of Mataró, who deserve to grow up connected to our folk traditions.

This exhibit is part of our commitment since 2023 to bring Catalonia’s festive and popular culture to everyone through our Espai Robafaves, connecting towns and generations.

💬 What’s your opinion on Mataró cancelling the 3 Tombs?
We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Now more than ever: CULTURE, FUN & TRADITION!
