This September, we have the honour of welcoming a very special procession to Espai Robafaves, one that comes from our own city: the Festa de la Tardor from the La Llàntia neighbourhood of Mataró.

This unique celebration takes place only once a year, on 31 October, and now we have the opportunity to bring it closer to the city’s youngest visitors, allowing them to discover the characters that bring it to life.

A procession full of characters

During these weeks, our window display is filled with some of the main characters of the Festa de la Tardor: the Monjo, the Fulla Caduca, the Xocolateres, the Músics, the Castanyera and the Caramelers.

Each of these characters is different and forms part of a very special celebration in the La Llàntia neighbourhood. For a few weeks, they leave their neighbourhood behind to visit us at Espai Robafaves.

A celebration that takes place only once a year

One of the unique features of the Festa de la Tardor is that its procession can be enjoyed only once a year, on 31 October.

Having its characters in our window display is therefore a wonderful opportunity to see them up close, discover their details and introduce more people to a celebration that forms part of Mataró’s popular culture.

Mataró’s popular culture, closer than ever

This time, we did not have to travel far to find our guests. We are especially delighted to dedicate our window display to a celebration born and held in Mataró and to help make it better known among children and adults alike.

Because popular culture is also built in our neighbourhoods, through celebrations, characters and traditions that give each corner of our city its own identity.

This window display continues the commitment we made at Espai Robafaves in 2023: to bring popular and festive culture closer to everyone, especially children.

Every figure and every celebration that visits our window display gives us the opportunity to tell a different story. This time, we are especially happy to open a window onto a tradition very close to home: the Festa de la Tardor de la Llàntia. 🍄🌰
