At a festa major, everything begins to pulse when the music starts. It’s the rhythm that guides the giants, accompanies the fire beasts, gets people dancing and stirs the heart. Musicians are essential, yes… but there’s another silent protagonist we often forget: the artisan who builds the instruments.

The heartbeat of the drum is born in Terrassa 馃
During a visit by some very curious mannequins to the Tabals Cabrera workshop, we stepped into a fascinating space in Terrassa, filled with the scent of wood, leather, passion and tradition.
Leading the workshop is Germán, the soul of the project. With deep love for traditional Catalan music, he transforms wood and membranes into unique drums, made with skill, care, and true craftsmanship.
Every corner of Tabals Cabrera tells of this dedication: old tools, natural textures, and instruments that are almost works of art.
Our mannequins were amazed… and truth be told, a bit tempted to bang on a drum or two!
Music that comes from far away... and from deep within 馃幎
The music of a festa major isn’t just heard. It’s felt. And behind that emotion is always a chain of people who bring talent to the table: musicians, dancers, pyrotechnicians, giant-bearers… and also artisans.
They’re the ones who give voice to the instruments, who make a gralla sing, a tabal thunder, and give the festival its unique soundtrack.
