GUSPIRA Correfoc Hat
GUSPIRA Correfoc Hat
The return of a Mataró correfoc classic
GUSPIRA is Robafaves’ correfoc hat, made from 100% heavyweight cotton to cover the head and back of the neck during correfocs. It has a 300 g/m² black outer layer and a 200 g/m² red inner layer, is made entirely in Catalonia and embroidered in Mataró.
Available in five sizes: 54, 56, 58, 60 and 62. Its design revives the traditional correfoc hats that could be seen for years in the streets of Mataró and features a moon based on an original work by Mataró artist Nefer Rovira.
A correfoc hat made in Catalonia
GUSPIRA is made with two layers of 100% cotton: a 300 g/m² black Mikado outer layer and a 200 g/m² red Mikado inner layer.
The heavyweight fabric and absence of polyester are particularly important for a garment designed to be worn during a correfoc. The hat covers the head and extends down at the back to cover the neck.
It is made entirely in Catalonia and embroidered in Mataró.
Reviving Mataró’s traditional correfoc hat
For years, black hats were part of the distinctive image of correfocs in Mataró. With GUSPIRA, we are bringing this piece back to the streets during Les Santes.
The black exterior recalls those traditional hats, while the red interior refers to the sparks and fire of the Escapada a Negra Nit.
Nefer Rovira’s moon
The project, created by Ferran Muñoz Pérez, features a version of one of the moons designed by Mataró artist Nefer Rovira for the costume of the Diablesses de Mataró.
The moon is embroidered onto the hat, connecting GUSPIRA with one of the most recognisable images of the Diablesses and Les Santes. This edition has been produced with the artist’s approval.

How to choose your hat size
Measure the circumference of your head with a flexible measuring tape, approximately 1 cm above your ears and eyebrows, passing around the widest part of your head.
The measurement in centimetres corresponds to your hat size. For example, if your head circumference is 58 cm, choose size 58.
If you are between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger one for a little more room and comfort.
Correfoc safety
GUSPIRA does not have a flame-retardant treatment. It is made from 100% heavyweight cotton and contains no polyester.
Flame-retardant treatments applied to fabrics can lose effectiveness through use and washing. In addition, no item of clothing eliminates the risk of burns if it comes into direct contact with fire or pyrotechnics.
When taking part in a correfoc, always follow the safety instructions provided by the organisers and wear suitable clothing that covers the skin. The hat is a protective accessory and is not personal protective equipment (PPE).
