14.00 €

The Senyera Mataronina was created to be the Catalan flag that represents the city of Mataró. A unique senyera that incorporates the silhouette of the Giants of Mataró, merging the national symbol of Catalonia with the deepest identity of our city.

We also have the Estelada Mataronina!

What is the Senyera Mataronina?

The Senyera Mataronina is an adaptation of the Catalan senyera — the four red stripes on a yellow background — with the silhouette of the Giants of Mataró integrated into the design. A piece that combines two identity symbols: Catalan culture and the festive tradition of Mataró. Perfect for hanging on the balcony during Les Santes, the Mataró Festival, for Sant Jordi's Day or at any celebration where you want to show your pride in your city and your culture.

The tradition of the Senyera in Mataró

The four stripes of the house of Catalonia and Aragon have been present in Mataró since 31 July 1480, when Ferdinand of Castile and Aragon granted Barcelona citizenship to Mataró and established that the city's flag and coat of arms should be those of Barcelona. From that moment, the four stripes were adopted as the city's emblem. A tradition of more than five centuries that the Senyera Mataronina honours and updates with the image of the Giants.
