Who is Toneta of Mataró?

Toneta is the daughter of Robafaves and the Geganta and is part of the Família Robafaves of the Giants of Mataró.

She is the only member of the family whose date of origin is known with near certainty: 1853. She is considered one of the first gegantones in Catalonia created as the daughter of a pair of giants.

By 1957, Toneta already appeared with the long blonde hair that is now part of her familiar appearance. She dresses in shades of pink and lilac and, like the Geganta, carries a bouquet of fresh flowers in her right hand while holding her skirt with her left.

Toneta takes part alongside the rest of the Família Robafaves in Les Santes, Mataró's Festa Major, and in their parades through the streets of the city.
