Who is la Toneta de Mataró?

La Toneta is the daughter of Robafaves and la Geganta, and the only member of the family whose origin date is known almost with certainty: 1853. She is believed to be one of the first female giants born as the daughter of a giant couple in Catalonia. By 1957, la Toneta already appears with long blonde hair that gives her the young and modern look everyone knows today. She is dressed in pinks and lilacs and, like her mother, carries a bouquet of natural flowers in her right hand, while holding her skirt with her left.
