Who is el Drac de Mataró?

El Drac de Mataró was presented on 20 April 1991 during the Sant Jordi festivities, thanks to the cooperation of around twenty people and the Mataró City Council. Inspired by the winged dragon that Robafaves carries on the top of his helmet, the Drac is a fierce yet friendly fire figure, with a calm fire formed by eight fixed fire points that allow people to jump and dance very close to it. It also has a special mechanism to breathe fire from its mouth. It celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021.
