Robafaves correfoc capes are designed for children and adults and are made mainly from heavyweight 100% cotton. We have two designs inspired by Mataró's fire traditions: the Diablesses and the Drac, two of the festive groups and figures that take part in Les Santes.

Each correfoc cape combines a black 400 g/m² outer fabric with a 160 g/m² cotton lining. We design them at Robafaves and they are made in Mataró, in three sizes for children and adults.

Correfoc capes for children and adults

Our capes are available in three sizes. As every child is a different height, the ages are only a guide. To choose the right size, we recommend checking the length of the cape.

• Small: approximately 3 to 6 years. Length of 60 cm from the back of the neck to the bottom of the cape.
• Medium: approximately 7 to 9 years. Length of 76.5 cm from the back of the neck to the bottom of the cape.
• Large (adult): approximately from age 10 to adult. Length of 1 metre from the back of the neck to the bottom of the cape.

Materials and production

The body of the cape is made from two layers of 100% cotton: a black 400 g/m² outer fabric and a 160 g/m² cotton lining. This gives the cape a thick, substantial feel compared with a conventional garment.

The Drac and Diablesses figures are sublimated onto small pieces of polyester. They are then embroidered and sewn onto the cape. The rest of the garment is made from 100% cotton.

The capes are designed by Robafaves and made in Mataró.

You can choose between two designs inspired by the fire traditions and figures of Les Santes in Mataró:

Is the correfoc cape fireproof?

No. Robafaves correfoc capes are not fireproof and do not have any flame-retardant treatment. Although they are made mainly from heavyweight 100% cotton, the fabric can burn or become damaged if it comes into contact with flames, sparks or other sources of heat.

The cape does not replace the protective measures indicated by the organisers of a correfoc. Always follow the safety recommendations for each event and wear suitable clothing and footwear.

How to choose your correfoc cape size

To find the right size, it is better to check the length of the cape rather than relying only on age.

Measure downwards from the back of the neck and compare the result with the three available lengths: 60 cm, 76.5 cm or 1 metre. This will help you choose the size that best suits the height of the person wearing it.

How to wash a correfoc cape

We recommend washing the cape at a maximum of 30°C, separately and without bleach. It can be ironed at a maximum temperature of 150°C, avoiding direct contact with the embroidery and appliqués.

Correfoc capes and Les Santes in Mataró

Fire plays an important part in Les Santes, Mataró's Festa Major. The Diablesses, Drac, Dragalió, Momerota and Momeroteta take part in different events throughout the festival.

The two Robafaves designs come from this world: one is dedicated to the Diablesses de Mataró and the other to the Drac de Mataró. Two different ways of carrying a little piece of the fire of Les Santes with you.
