Who are the Diablesses de Mataró?

In 1985, the first all-female fire colla in Catalonia was created, with the aim of bringing a bold and daring contribution of fire and celebration to the Les Santes programme. A pioneering move that changed the landscape of fire colles in Catalonia forever.

The Diablesses de Mataró are the hosts of l'Escapada a Negra Nit, the great correfoc of Les Santes, and one of the most beloved and recognisable elements of the Mataró Festival. Thirty-eight members with carretilles and titans, accompanied by around twenty musicians.
