What is Momeroteta of Mataró?

Momeroteta is a fire figure from Mataró and one of the figures associated with Les Santes de Mataró.

It was built by Boris Ruiz and first presented during Les Santes in 1982, three years after Momerota. It is carried by two people and has a bull’s head and the body of a mulassa, with smaller dimensions than its mother.

Momeroteta is easily distinguished by its tongue sticking out of its mouth and one fire point on each horn. These features make it easy to tell apart from Momerota.
