What is Dragalió of Mataró?

Dragalió is a fire figure from Mataró associated with Les Santes de Mataró.

Its story begins with the courtship between Drac de Mataró and Víbria del Poblenou. It was first presented as a giant egg during Sant Jordi in 2007, and Dragalió emerged from the egg on 25 July of the same year, coinciding with the beginning of Les Santes.

It is a small fire figure, carried by one person, with many similarities to Drac de Mataró, its father. Dragalió was designed and built by Xevi Ribas.
