The Momerota is a fire figure of Mataró and one of the central figures of Les Santes de Mataró, the city’s Festa Major.

It was built by actor Boris Ruiz and presented in 1979. It is carried by two people and has a very distinctive appearance: a bull’s head, two horns with fire points and a mulassa-shaped body.

The Momerota is the mother of the Momeroteta, another of Mataró’s fire figures. Both are part of the city’s popular culture and take part in several events during Les Santes.
