What is Drac of Mataró?

Drac of Mataró is one of the city’s traditional fire figures and takes part in different events during Les Santes de Mataró.

It was first presented on 20 April 1991 and was built by Manel Casserres. Its appearance is inspired by the winged dragon on Robafaves’ helmet.

The figure has eight fixed fire points and a mechanism that allows it to breathe fire through its mouth. It is carried by one person and has its own group that accompanies it during performances.
